About half of the payouts for 2024 go to Chrome researchers and those who discovered vulnerabilities in Android and other Google devices.
The company has paid out more than $3.3 million to researchers who discovered critical vulnerabilities in Android and Google mobile apps. The company also noted that the number of reports of such vulnerabilities decreased by 8% last year. At the same time, there was a slight increase of 2% in the number of critical and high vulnerabilities.
In total, 337 unique reports were submitted to the Chrome VRP, 137 of which received a reward totaling $3.4 million.
2024 was the first full year of AI bug bounty payments, but the payout remained relatively low at $55,000.
