Olga Sendziuk, Managing Director of Ubisoft Ukraine Studios, spoke about their work on a large-scale update to the tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege.
«Ubisoft Ukraine Studios continues to fulfill its commitment to making games more accessible to everyone — this time through our contribution to the upcoming release of Rainbow Six Siege X», — Sendziuk wrote on LinkedIn.
According to her, the Ubisoft Ukraine development team that worked on Rainbow Six Siege X was led by producer Yevhenia Gonchar.
«Our talented team has contributed to most of the accessibility features you’ll find in the game, from visuals to audio and controls. I’m proud of what they’ve accomplished and grateful for their commitment to inclusive gaming, as well as to our partners for their continued support and fruitful collaboration!», -said Olga Sendziuk.
Ubisoft previously said that Rainbow Six Siege X is not a sequel to the tactical shooter, which turns 10 in 2025, nor is it just a major update, but an «evolution.» With Siege X, which is due to be released on June 10, the original game will receive improved graphics, gameplay, and new modes.
According to Ubisoft’s user experience director, Sébastien François, among the accessibility settings is the ability to change the color of both teams, which is not easy for a 10-year-old game.
«Implementing this feature required significant restructuring and thoughtful design, as it affects many aspects of the game, from the user interface to the in-game lighting and textures,» he noted.
Francois also said that the developers have been working to provide players with options that allow them to comfortably focus on the core elements of the gameplay, such as reducing the intensity of bright flashes, eliminating blur effects or camera shake. A full list of accessibility features is available on the Ubisoft blog.
