Ukrainian online ride-hailing service Uklon is considering entering the markets of Southeast European countries, in particular, Albania.
This was reported by the Uklon press service upon request from Forbes Ukraine. In early February, top managers of Uklon met with representatives of the Albanian Investment Development Agency.
«Uklon representatives presented their business model and expansion plans in Albania,» the report said.
Uklon CEO Serhiy Grishkov noted that Uklon is constantly studying interesting markets. The company studies economic and demographic indicators, market technology and competition, «the regulatory field and policies of countries in supporting the development of digital services,» he said.
In December 2021, Uklon entered the Moldovan market, but due to the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion and problems with a partner, the company stopped working in this direction in March 2022.
In 2022, it was reported that Uklon was planning to expand the franchise abroad and noted interest in the Baltic countries, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and others.
In May 2023, the online service Uklon announced its entry into the Azerbaijani market, but later decided to suspend operations due to instability related to changes in legislation.
Currently, in addition to Ukraine, Uklon operates only in Uzbekistan, where it competes with the Russian Yandex.Taxi.
