Ukraine has imposed sanctions against the developers of the Russian "Starlink analogue": 10 companies and 19 Russians are under restrictions

How dangerous is the Rassvet system?

Russia is developing its own constellation of low-orbit satellites to create an analogue of the Starlink network. The enemy's main goals are to ensure continuous control of troops, as well as online guidance and coordination of strike drones (including "Shaheeds") and missiles directly during their flight.

If deployed, this system will allow the Russian Federation to control weapons in real time not only on the territory of Ukraine, but also to create threats to other countries in the world.

Who is under restriction?

Among the key legal entities to which sanctions have been applied:

• "Bureau 1440" is the main developer, coordinator and system integrator of the "Rassvet" project;

• Labs 1440 is a manufacturer of solar panels for spacecraft;

• "FAB Rassvet" is a developer and manufacturer of low-orbit satellites and subscriber terminals;

• "AeroSpace Devices" is a Belarusian enterprise engaged in the development of components for aerospace systems;

• "5C Group" is a supplier of foreign industrial equipment that produces RMatic computers (one of them was used in research for Bureau 1440 and the sanctioned UAV manufacturer Orlan);

• Also on the list: "VO "Aquamash" (high-precision parts), "El-Optix" (optics, lasers, quantum communication), "Elesar-Group" (import of electronic components) and "Small Spacecraft" (ground satellite communication).

Impact on supply chains

As Vladyslav Vlasyuk, Advisor to the President on Sanctions Policy, noted , the Rassvet project is critically dependent on foreign equipment, components, and technologies. That is why Ukraine is targeting supply chains at the system development stage and is calling on international partners to synchronize these restrictions in their jurisdictions.

In addition, another sanctions package against the shadow fleet has been introduced. The package includes 39 naval vessels.
