The Ukrainian Defense Forces will receive at least 25,000 ground robotic systems. This figure is already twice the volume of government orders for the entire past year, and the scaling of deliveries will continue.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to him, ground-based drones are currently one of the hottest requests from Ukrainian units on the front line.
"25,000 NRCs have already been contracted — twice as many as last year, and this is only the initial level: the number will be increased, and it is noticeable that contracting is ongoing," the president noted in his address.
To ensure that the production and supply of equipment kept up with the military's requests, the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense were instructed to check the front's real need for robotic platforms every month.
In addition to developing ground-based drones, the government is also focusing on strengthening systems to intercept enemy ballistic missiles. To this end, they are considering both alternative anti-ballistic defenses available worldwide and their own developments by Ukrainian engineers.
Earlier, Tencore co-founder and director Maksym Vasylchenko emphasized in an interview with dev.ua that, according to his calculations, 40,000 NRCs are needed to cover the need at the front.
