The Babel and Suspilne publications, citing intelligence sources, report that Ukrainian cyber experts have carried out a powerful attack on the infrastructure of the occupier provider Sibset. As a result of the attack, there are disruptions in the provider's personal account on the website, as well as the Sibset company's mobile application.
The DDOS attack overloaded and disabled the servers of the provider's branches in Novosibirsk, Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo, and Krasnoyarsk. In total, thousands of subscribers are having problems accessing the Internet.
In an official appeal, representatives of Sibsets complain that Ukrainians "spoiled the May holidays" and urge users not to burden the support service with additional requests.
The attack on the Russian provider was carried out on April 30 and is still ongoing.
This is not the first cyber operation by Ukrainian hackers against an aggressor country. In January of this year, the State Security Service of Ukraine carried out a large-scale cyberattack on the Russian company RegionTransService, which is engaged in the maintenance of freight cars and cooperates with the Russian army. As a result of the attack, all servers were destroyed, workstations were disabled, and data backups were erased. In total, 78 servers and 211 workstations were affected.
The enemy is also constantly attacking Ukraine. We previously reported on the activities of the Russian hacker group Gamaredon, which has repeatedly carried out attacks on Ukrainian defense and critical infrastructure facilities.
