Aerostats act as repeaters, allowing for much more stable communications than through ground-based means, which is important for effective military coordination.
«We have been working for two years to ensure that balloons fly in all weather conditions. We are now testing them in the most difficult situations,» Oleksandr, one of the developers, told Frontliner.
The aerostat is capable of reaching a height of approximately 800 m, carrying a payload of up to 10 kg, and operating regardless of weather conditions. In addition to communications, it performs surveillance, electronic warfare, and interception of enemy drones.
Aero Bavovna is working on a new development — a special installation for intercepting enemy UAVs of the «Shahed» type. Together with partners, the company is also working on a new air defense system.
A thermal imaging camera is used to detect enemy drones, which allows for timely detection and detection of the target.
Ukrainian developers are confident that aerostats will become an integral part of modern warfare.
