Academician Anatoly Zagorodnyi, president of NASU, told about this in an interview with "Ukrinform".
"Spectator can choose its own flight height, find objects - these are highly intelligent functions, in fact, elements of artificial intelligence. And they are already in Spectator M-1M. These devices are already in production," said Zagorodny.
Spectator-M1 is an improved version of Spectator drones from JSC "Meridian" named after WITH. P. Korolev". Spectator-M1 is designed for aerial reconnaissance both during the day and at night. It climbs to a height of 3,600 m, has a maximum speed of 120 km/h, the speed at which the task is performed is 70 km/h. The drone can be in the air for more than two hours. The complex is capable of transmitting video information in digitally encoded form, and the flight range of the Spectator-M1 is up to 150 km.
Since the Spectator is a reconnaissance drone, the developers made sure that its engine runs quietly. "Our scientists have created a hydrogen fuel cell — a silent converter of chemical energy into electrical energy," added the president of NASU.
