Ukrainian startup TechNovator, which has developed a new technology for charging gadgets remotely without using stationary charging, is preparing to launch two of its own products.

Ruslana Dovzhyk, CEO of the TechNovator startup, told this in an interview with dev.ua.

«In parallel with the development of technology, we are preparing to launch our own product — a wireless charging mat with support for different power levels and rechargeable batteries without the use of lithium,» she noted.

According to Ruslana Dovzhyk, the startup aims to create a battery with a service life of 20–50 years, which could become a more durable alternative to traditional AA/AAA batteries, which usually last only 2–3 years.

«This decision also fits well with the EU Regulation (EU) 2023/1542,» commented the CEO of TechNovator.

She added that the startup won a grant funding of €500,000 from the EIC pre-accelerator to develop a new lithium-free rechargeable battery with a service life of 20-50 years.

At the same time, from a business point of view, as Ruslana Dovzhyk emphasized, the main and most desirable model for a startup remains technology licensing.

«This requires several key components: patent protection, the right strategic partners, and successfully implemented pilot projects. Our patent application has now been published, and the first patents are expected to be issued in late 2026 or early 2027,» says TechNovator CEO.

Dovzhik says she and her startup colleagues hope to see the first commercial implementations of the technology within the next few years.

As dev.ua previously reported, the TechNovator startup won the Deep Tech Accelerator: Hardware Edition training and mentoring program and received a grant of $10,000.
