The Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine is automating the granting of combatant status (CVD). Servicemen will not be involved in the process of obtaining the status at all.
In July, the government adopted a resolution allowing for the status of a combat participant on the Diia portal. According to the Ministry of Veterans, this feature should be available as early as January 2025.
«Servicemen perform combat missions, the state takes care of everything else. We are introducing automatic granting of status, which eliminates even the need to submit an application. No bureaucratic obstacles, no paper documents or additional applications to various institutions,» said the Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, Natalia Kalmykova.
Previously, the process required the personal participation of veterans, submission of paper documents, and numerous approvals. Now this procedure will become much simpler and faster. Information on participation in hostilities will be entered by authorized persons of military units.
After being granted UBD status, servicemen will be able to generate an e-Certificate in the «Diia» application and enjoy all the benefits of the status.
«The generation of e-Certificates in the „Diia“ application without a paper certificate will be implemented in January 2025,» the Ministry of Veterans Affairs emphasized.
