The Uklon taxi service received permission from the Kyiv authorities to operate during curfew hours.
This was reported by the company’s press service.
«We have important news: together with the city authorities, we have agreed on the work of Uklon during curfew. So, starting January 17, it will be possible to accept orders in the capital 24/7,» Uklon noted.
Uklon CEO Serhiy Grishkov, meanwhile, explained that this decision was made in response to the public appeal of the President of Ukraine and the introduction of a state of emergency in the energy sector.
«To be close to those in need, we are not stopping work so that Kyiv residents and guests of the capital can get to points of invulnerability, heating, charging, or deliver food, necessary things, or medicines for themselves or their loved ones. We are confident that having access to ride-hailing and delivery services is now a critical necessity,» he believes.
Grishkov recalled that Uklon has been operating during curfew in Lviv for over a year, and is ready to work around the clock in all cities where the service is present.
As dev.ua reported, the day before, ride-hailing services Bolt, Uklon, and Uber addressed Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko with a joint statement, in which they requested permission for taxis to operate during curfew hours.
At the same time, in the summer, Bolt, Uklon, and Uber already sent a joint letter to the capital’s authorities and the National Police with a proposal to introduce an official model of taxi operation at night, citing the example of Lviv.
