" Sukorok " is a drone detector that signals that an enemy drone is nearby, giving soldiers time to change position or jump out of a vehicle being attacked by a UAV. The device was designed by Dmytro Selin, a programmer from Dnipro, but who has been living in London for a long time, and has been helping the Ukrainian Armed Forces in any way he can since the start of the full-scale invasion.
The detector was already being refined. First, the programmer studied the radio modules of captured Orlans, it was their signal that the gadget intercepted and warned the military. He also added the Eleron, Zala and Supercam, as well as the Lancet kamikaze drone and small Mavics to the list of enemy UAVs on which the Tsukorok worked.
For a while, the "Sukorok" was ineffective against FPV and Mavic, as this device is designed for early detection of Russian reconnaissance drones.
However, after updating the firmware of the “Vanilla Sugar” detector (with two antennas), which the developer presented in February of this year, the device is able to accurately and quickly detect DJI Mavic UAVs of the 2.4 GHz band at a distance of 200-400 meters. In addition, the device will warn the owner about a possible “reset” of ammunition from an enemy drone. But for this it was necessary to make certain settings, and here are some.
