Regional Manager of Ciklum: "If a specialist could go and show the customer his expertise from Ukraine, it would make it possible to attract 5-10 more employees"
Vitaly Nuzhny, head of Ciklum offices in Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania, spoke about the difficulties due to limited bookings and business trips.
Vitaly Nuzhny, head of Ciklum offices in Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania, spoke about the difficulties due to limited bookings and business trips.
In an interview with DOU, Nuzhny said that Ciklum, which is engaged in software development, currently has 120 projects (a third of them are new). In particular, the company has 20 clients in Israel, where Ciklum has had the greatest growth in recent years.
«Like the entire sector, we are experiencing difficulties due to limited bookings and business trips. This is the second reason why it is not easy to enter into new contracts and maintain export indicators. If a specialist could go and show the customer his expertise from Ukraine, this would make it possible to attract another 5-10 employees», — said Vitaliy Nuzhny.
He added that one person can build a team around them, create new jobs or secure existing ones. In his opinion, «if there is a way to unlock this opportunity», it would help maintain export performance.
Vitaliy Nuzhny also said that Ciklum has 2,050 employees in Ukraine, 26 of whom are reserved. Another 89 company employees have now joined the Defense Forces.
«Last year, we had 17 junior hires, seven of which were in support engineering, six more juniors joined the delivery team, and four developers joined engineering. The competition was very high. If in 2023 there were an average of 46 responses for a junior position, then in 2024 there were 79», — said the regional manager of Ciklum.
Regarding the company’s plans for 2025, Ciklum expects growth of 20-25%, as well as the emergence of new technological offers in order to «maintain a stable headcount in Ukraine».
«It is interesting that we have started cooperation with a large telecom client in the United Arab Emirates, and he is not against starting work and projects in Ukraine. That is, we are looking for clients who are neutral about our security situation, given our experience. We have been able to work in these conditions for almost three years», — noted Vitaliy Nuzhny.
Last December, he said that in a world where stability is becoming an illusion, it is not easy to make predictions. According to the Ciklum top manager, the issues of booking for critical personnel, as well as the stability of business operating conditions, remain fundamentally important.
«Ukrainian IT will definitely exist. The world needs innovations and new services, and our engineers are talentedly filling this need.» What will 2025 be like for Ukrainian IT: the top players from EPAM, Ciklum, Capgemini Engineering, ZONE3000, Genesis and others tell us
«Constant security risks, regular damage to energy infrastructure, and mobilization affect the attitude of foreign companies towards cooperation with IT in Ukraine.» Forecast for Ukrainian IT-2025 from the head of Ciklum
