Driver-designer

UI/UX Designer Mikhail Polozov found a vacancy in his specialty with a strange additional requirement. «Driver-designer? Of course, I saw how a ui/ux designer should be able to do both graphic and motion design, but with a license and taxi skills — this is something new,» he noted .

Chatter for $3000

Olena Fedoruk, Business Analyst, shared a vacancy that, unlike most IT positions, does not require any training or experience, and allows you to earn $3,000. «I: self-development, courses, analytics, cross-functional skills, books, trainings, brain. They: do you have fingers? do you have wifi? Hold on to $3,000,» she described her impressions.

The fiasco of the Ukrainian IT market

UX/UI Artemiy Kosovich said that while looking for a job, he came across some very strange vacancies. He did not pass some kind of test from the employer, which was indicated at the end of the vacancy description. «Usually I don’t read the answers or the vacancies themselves — I don’t care if the recruiter doesn’t answer or sends me a different script. But this is a different case. Today I learned that it is more important to pass some kind of «answer-question» at the end of the vacancy (they call it a UX test, brouch) than to have the skills that correspond to the position. Let’s figure it out a little:

As someone who just started actively looking for a studio job again yesterday, I’m looking at job openings. Here’s what I’m considering:
1. A brief description — where and to whom I am going
2. I like it when there is a short story about the company
3. Main tasks — should we close them?
4. Knowledge that will be a plus

All of it! If I see myself getting closer, I cry.
Why the hell do I have to take some kind of microtest that is not visible at all? Are these UX tests? Is it really more important in 2025 to find out which design book you read than what you actually know and how you solved problems on projects? Sorry, but this is a fiasco of the Ukrainian market. If you want to implement such a «test» and want it to actually be performed, that is, create an adequate UX for the candidate, here are the options — from minimal to ideal:
1. At a minimum, place the test at the beginning of the vacancy so that it does not fall out of sight.
2. Use forms: Google forms, concepts, etc.
3. Speaking of «ideality» — create an interactive form on your personal website, immediately take the test when you are satisfied. These are the simplest UX solutions that came to my mind to direct the candidate to the right point,» he wrote.

Marketer Oleksandra Letova posted a screenshot of a test task that turned out to be extremely voluminous and similar to part of a real project. «What about test tasks?» she asked ironically.

Developer Vlad Virchenko published an offer, which he briefly described: «another bottom of the IT world has been reached: full, 1 year, high English — up to $600.»

And finally, a very strange requirement from the other side of the recruiting funnel — from the candidate. Shared by Artem Nikityuk, Talent Acquisition Lead.

«It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything interesting, but I have a combo for you. Boom: The candidate wrote to my personal email. Bach: And I, without opening the resume, already know his background, because the subject of the letter is generally TOP. And there was also a resume attached, which was called: Idealnyi_kandidat_QA_name of the candidate.
But despite the jokes, he still got my attention — I actually looked at his resume, and it was pretty good. But it shouldn’t be like that — „unpleasant things“ — that’s not ice,» Artem noted .
