The most popular offer of the week, which only the lazy didn’t repost — a June designer vacancy for strangely unmarketable money and with a condition that doesn’t fit in your head.

«If you leave before 1.5 years, you will have to return your salary as compensation for the training we provide,» an IT worker received this message from a recruiter. A post by user oleh.banera on Threads about this matter went viral, garnering thousands of reactions and hundreds of comments.

In the comments to this post, the IT professional himself reported that the vacancy was for a Junior UX/UI Designer at DXC Luxoft. User oleh.banera also said in the comments that he had been looking for a job for six months, but in this case, he was shocked not even by the slow salary increase offered by the recruiter, but by the conditions for refunding money in the event of dismissal, which he called «horrible.» To confirm his words, the IT professional added a screenshot of the correspondence.

Most of the commenters under the post called such conditions from the employer «slavery» and «bondage», and some of them appealed to the fact that they at least do not comply with Ukrainian labor legislation.

Luxoft did not deny that this case was caused by their recruiter, but at the same time emphasized that after conducting an internal audit, it was found that «inaccuracies were made regarding the level of the position and conditions during communication with the candidate.»

A letter from DXC Luxoft Regional Department Manager Olena Hryhorko, which was received by dev.ua in response to a request to comment on the situation, notes that the information that was the subject of discussion did not relate to the Junior vacancy.

«Separate conditions are provided for the other program. All conditions are openly communicated to candidates before the start of cooperation. We also note that the statement about the need to return all the received remuneration is not true and is not confirmed by the company,» emphasized Olena Hryhorko.

According to her, the company provided the candidate with additional clarifications regarding the conditions, and work was carried out within the team «to avoid similar misunderstandings in the future.»

«Dream job» for $500

Kirill Gordeev, Frontend Developer, posted a vacancy, which he signed as follows: «I found my dream job, who else wants one?» The candidate was offered 9,000 UAH for a trial period and as much as $500 after its completion. They promise to review the reward in a year.

Of the interesting things, there is a contract for a year and a half, official registration through a sole proprietorship, and desktop screenshots every 10 minutes.

«The main disadvantage is that there is no stable salary»

Artem Pelevin, Android Developer, showed a vacancy where they offer… or rather, they don’t offer a salary. «These developers, everything is always wrong with their vacancies. They don’t want to write tests, then they complain about trackers. They don’t like live coding. They also demand to name the salary range. Colleagues posted a screenshot of the vacancy, how to fill it out, so that developers would flock to it like bees to honey,» he wrote ironically.

«A designer who can write code on their own is not an AI»

Senior UX/UI & Product designer Andriy Kolodyazhensky writes: «The company is looking for a senior front-end product designer who should be able to write code independently, not with AI. This is something new (or old from the times when it was one web developer). If you know such a person, I would like to take a look at this person. You don’t often see a senior front-end vacancy with senior product designer skills. These are usually switchers who have moved from one to another. Because it is difficult to simultaneously master these skills.»

Product Design Engineer Denis Osadchy believes that «writing code without shi in 2026 is already a joke.»

Web/UI Frontend Designer Konstantin Taranukha comments: «This is not something new. This is Web UI / Frontend Designer. UX, interfaces, product logic, HTML/CSS/JS and understanding of development in one person. It’s just that the market has again started to value people who can bring a layout to a finished product, and not just draw it in Figma.»

Full stack web developer Volodymyr Yevremov comments: «A designer who knows how to write code. Go crazy. It’s interesting that they don’t look for a developer who knows how to design well, because that’s even more difficult, in my opinion.»

«There was malware in the test code»

CEO at Protagonist Anton Khapeev told how a virus came to one of his clients under a $15,000 vacancy that almost infected the equipment.

«Would you accept an offer of $15k per month? That’s exactly the amount a recruiter offered one of our client’s developers. We run this client in SOCaS mode — and it was thanks to monitoring that we detected the case before it escalated into something serious.

And the story is this. A «recruiter» wrote to the developer with a perfectly written job offer. An offer that matched his real stack, his experience, his profile. Everything looked so organic that there were no red flags at the start,» he says.

Next was the «preparation stage» and the test task. «The test code contained malware (malicious software — ed.). And here’s what’s important to understand. Social engineering has long ceased to be about letters from a «notary about inheritance» or fake pages for stealing Instagram passwords. Today, it’s a targeted, personalized attack, where the attacker does his homework: studies the stack, role, motivation, and builds a scenario that you want to believe in. The most vulnerable point is the person who has been made an offer that is hard to refuse.
«Conclusion: technical protection is necessary, but it is incomplete without constant monitoring and a trained team. The attack was not stopped by the antivirus — the SOC saw it,» he summarizes.

PM for 17,000 with working Saturdays

Threads user spring000s posted a PM vacancy for UAH 17,000-20,000 in Kyiv. «Kyiv, projects, don’t you want a job for UAH 17,000? You also have to show up for work on Saturday. Do those employers go to the same business club?» she asks.
