A lecturer at Kharkiv Polytechnic University has developed a device for military rehabilitation that even works from a power bank
A scientist and engineer from Kharkiv, Mykhailo Fyk, has been living in Ivano-Frankivsk for almost three years due to the invasion. At the request of volunteers, he developed a magnetic-ultrasound physiotherapeutic medical irradiator that helps military personnel restore their health. It is much cheaper than foreign analogues and easier to use. The production of the devices has already been scaled up, in particular, they are used in the rehabilitation department of the city hospital.
After moving to Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykhailo Fyk began teaching at the University of Oil and Gas, combining it with distance lectures for the Kharkiv Polytechnic. He also got a job at the municipal enterprise "Electroavtotrans".
Local volunteers approached Mykhailo Fyk with a proposal to help establish the production of devices that would assist in rehabilitation, primarily for war veterans. He had been working on such developments for several years and even brought some equipment from Kharkiv.
"My research into health and cosmetology developments began actively in 2014-2015, with the beginning of the ATO. Because such devices were needed for the rehabilitation of military personnel, so that they could recover faster, recover faster after concussions and injuries. But, firstly, the devices that are currently on the market are very complex and expensive. Secondly, they are not universal: even experienced doctors find it difficult to quickly reconfigure the device to the current need. Therefore, we developed such analogues that would be more universal and no less effective than branded ones, but still inexpensive and easy to use," the engineer said in an interview with the "Reporter" publication.

This is how "MOUFLON" appeared - a magnetic-ultrasound physiotherapeutic medical irradiator of the overhead type. The cost of such a device is about 100 euros. Its analogues in Europe cost about seven times more.
How the device works
On the device screen, you can see the electric potential from the static field when you touch the contact to the irradiator. The applicator is placed directly on the body. When you look at the signal, you can see the frequency spectrum, which shows what fields are in the device — its spectral characteristics. Their set — the so-called wave chords — directly affect the body.

The MOUFLON device has a gentler effect on the body than, for example, the world-famous Ralph Machine. It uses shock wave therapy - powerful electromagnetic fields that can provide quick results, for example, breaking up kidney stones.
And there are standardized electromagnetic fields, which are also very useful, — says the scientist. — They are used, for example, to clean blood vessels, so that organs work better, to improve the movement of intercellular fluid and blood, for wound healing, and so on. Devices that use such fields are already available in clinics, but due to the high price, only two or three in Ukraine have them. Not everyone can go there,” explains Mykhailo Fik.
"MOUFLON" even works from a power bank, so it can actually be used at home. According to Mykhailo Fyk, about a hundred servicemen have used it in Frankivsk over the entire time.
Veterans rent the device for free for as long as they need it. Then they return it and pass it on to others. There is also the option to purchase it for yourself, paying only the cost of materials.
The device is especially useful for those who have problems with their backs and legs. And if you apply it to the back of the head, it relieves the symptoms of concussion, because there is a cluster of bioactive points there. The soldiers say that after using it, they were even able to sleep normally.
Currently, about a dozen volunteer veterans are making such devices, and Mykhailo Fik provides scientific support for production. Several devices are currently being tested in the city clinical hospital, in the rehabilitation department. After that, "MOUFLONS" will be able to undergo licensing and will be used for patients in a military hospital for the treatment of transcoronary disorders and for post-stroke conditions.
