«We are rolling out profile labels for parody accounts to clearly distinguish between these types of accounts and their content on our platform. We designed these labels to increase transparency and ensure that users are not misled into believing that such accounts belong to the organization being parodied,» the post said .
X said the parody labels will be applied to posts and accounts on the social network to clearly demonstrate the source of the content users see. «We will share information soon about when the label will become mandatory for parody accounts,» the statement noted.

Currently, users of X accounts must apply the label themselves. To do this, you need to:
«The Parody, Fan, and Comment (PCF) labels are chosen by people on X to indicate that an account is impersonating another person, group, or organization on their profile for the purpose of discussing, satirizing, or sharing information about that person. This label distinguishes these accounts to ensure that they do not cause confusion for others or incorrectly indicate any affiliation,» the label’s description reads.
Additionally, if users believe an account is inauthentic or impersonating another person, they can report it in the app or through the social network’s help center. All accounts, including parody accounts, must comply with the social network’s rules, including the authenticity policy, according to X.
X said the tag will be visible on both accounts and posts.
