Recall, in 2023, law enforcement officers conducted searches in the MacPaw office and in the house of Oleksandr Kosovan. The searches concerned land plots that the company had previously purchased. MacPaw Village also appears in the conflict. Later, the Prosecutor General’s Office admitted that there was no urgent need for the searches.
«Unfortunately, for over 5 years we have been in a conflict with the head of the Tsyblivska AH, Oleksandr Palaguta, who has repeatedly tried to force me to engage in corruption deals. The latest demand goes beyond common sense — to „drive away“ 7 million UAH through the company of his nephew, Valeriy Palaguta, for allegedly developing land documentation. Of course, no other company is being considered, only the one he „needs“. My post can be considered an official, public accusation of corruption of officials,» Kosovan noted .
He added that instead of simply working, investing, and developing the project, he has been forced to defend himself in court for years and spend huge resources on lawyers and useless papers.
«The judicial system works in such a way that it is more like fighting windmills. During this time, we have already gone through the entire palette of pressure tools, from attacks by aunts, fake media publications, searches in MacPaw, to numerous petty incursions by various officials, commissions, and other „friends“ of Palaguta into our territory. And yesterday they made an illegal decision to terminate the land lease agreement for several of our plots. The reason? I did not agree to „share“ and did not succumb to corrupt demands,» Kosovan noted.
He noted that such behavior is clear evidence of how vulnerable any asset in Ukraine can be.
«Today you honestly invest in a project, and tomorrow, due to the arbitrariness of individual officials, everything can be taken away. As a result, instead of development and creation of new jobs, we are forced to wage a long-term „war“ with the system,» Kosovan noted.
«I want to talk about it publicly. Because it’s really getting to me. It’s preventing me from developing,» he added in an interview with DOU.
He also added that he advocates the early adoption of Bill No. 12089, which is designed to prevent the «extortion» of property due to mistakes or criminal actions of officials in the past, and to introduce liability for officials for making illegal decisions. Violators will be forced to compensate for the market value of land plots or other property in the event of illegal alienation.
