DOU notes that they counted IT workers who are in Ukraine and those who have gone abroad but pay taxes here.
As of January 2026, the 50 largest IT companies in Ukraine employ 79,776 people, of which 59,937 are technical specialists.
Ten companies have grown by over 100 specialists in Ukraine in six months (this is twice as many as in the summer). Mostly these are food companies.
But if we consider the increase in the number of technical specialists, the picture looks different. The largest increase in technical IT specialists is observed at Nova Digital — +193. In second place is mono — +135. MODUS X and EPAM Ukraine follow with a small margin: 131 and 130, respectively. Genesis hired 109 IT specialists, King Group — 94.
Five companies have reduced their workforce by 100+ specialists.
The largest decrease in technical specialists occurred at FRACTAL — minus 205 specialists. At ISD — 153, SoftServe — 96.
In the past six months, the top 50 companies opened few new offices. Only one in Ukraine — King Group in Kyiv. The rest are abroad: in Poland, Cyprus, Vietnam, Chile, and Colombia.
Five companies closed some of their office spaces in Ukraine: SoftServe in Lutsk, Intellias in Uzhhorod and Ivano-Frankivsk, Tietoevry Create Ukraine also in Ivano-Frankivsk, Avenga in Khmelnytskyi and Cherkasy, GeeksForLess in Kyiv.

Regarding hiring this year, two companies said they are ready to hire more than 500 specialists in the second half of the year. Another six will increase their staff by 200+ employees. Others have more modest plans.
