Ukrainian IT expert develops app for viewing Rada bills in TikTok format
Ukrainian developer Mykola Tsivka created a mobile application “Rada: Bills” that allows you to track the activities of the Verkhovna Rada in an interface familiar to social media users. The application turns the official register into a vertical ribbon, where each bill card can be swiped through — similar to TikTok, Reels, or Instagram Stories.
The developer spoke about his own pet project on the Reddit platform, noting that he created it in his free time without involving advertising or paid access.
"I just wanted to understand what the Verkhovna Rada is currently considering. Not once a month in the news, but in the moment: which project has been submitted, at what stage it is, who is pushing it, how the factions voted. There is an official website for this, but it is tables, cards and a bunch of tabs. It's hard on a phone. You open one law, then another, and you don't want to anymore. I wanted to flip through them like a tape, quickly, one after another. That's why I took the format not from state portals, but from TikTok, Reels and stories. A full card on the screen, swipe further, at the bottom the usual buttons: like, comment, save, share. That's how "Rada: Draft Laws" appeared. This is an unofficial pet project. I write in my free time, without advertising and without paid access," Mykola Tsivka noted.
Functionality and AI explanation of office texts
The main data source for the application is open datasets from the data.rada.gov.ua portal. Users can view the status of documents, the results of roll-call and factional votes, the attendance of people's deputies and their activity without mandatory registration. Authorization for commenting is implemented via Telegram.
The latest major update to the service is the “AI in simple words” button. Artificial intelligence analyzes published official texts and generates a concise extract in structured blocks: the essence of the changes, the range of persons affected, the amounts of money or fines, and the date of entry into force. According to the developer, this allows you to understand the content of a 40-page document in a matter of seconds.
The application is already available in stores under the name "Rada: Draft Laws" for iOS and Android .
The developer emphasizes that the service is completely unofficial and has no direct connection with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
A Ukrainian developer has created a free app for recording the operation of generators in condominiums. It counts engine hours, fuel, and reminds you of maintenance.
“Previously, they asked for up to $1 million for such an application.” How a director from Odessa creates programs for filmmakers with the help of AI without knowing how to code
