73% of Ukrainians do not complete their online orders. Why — explained in the study

A study conducted by Visa, cited by Economic Truth, also notes that more than half of those surveyed said they would make online purchases more often if online payment methods were improved.

At the same time, 43% of respondents complained that it was inconvenient for them to constantly enter card data on different sites.

«Almost 8 out of 10 (78%) respondents in Ukraine buy food and beverages online every week, and also regularly make purchases in other categories: health and beauty products, clothing and accessories, and electronics and home appliances,» the study notes.

Ukrainians mainly use mobile phones for online shopping — 89% of respondents do so.

«Security remains a key priority for Ukrainians when shopping online. According to the survey, 81% of consumers avoided shopping due to distrust of the site and reluctance to provide card details to it,» the Visa study states.

47% of respondents cited payment security as a key factor when choosing a payment method, and a 90% majority of respondents said they would feel more confident if payments were protected by biometrics.

Recall that according to another survey conducted by Rakuten Viber, 66% of Ukrainians in 2025 had dealt with cyberscams.

Meanwhile, in 2024, Ukrainians spent UAH 239 billion on online purchases, which is 25% more than in 2023.
