Ukrainian unicorn airSlate is optimizing its staff again. Who will be affected by the reduction this time and why, and what will the laid-off employees receive?

Ukrainian food company airSlate, one of the Ukrainian unicorns, will conduct another stage of staff reductions.

According to DOU, the layoffs will affect about 20 technical specialists. The reason for this decision is called restructuring.

The company’s CEO, Boris Shakhnovich, sent an email to employees in which he spoke about the reductions in the company.

«Today I want to share some important news about WorkFlow. The team’s hard work in delivering it on time and on budget is a testament to their incredible talent and dedication.

As a result, we are reorienting WorkFlow towards a partner-centric strategy, focusing on key markets where we have had success in the past, and streamlining operations. These changes include restructuring our team and reducing headcount to ensure a stronger and more sustainable future. We are committed to supporting those affected with resources and opportunities to transition to other roles within the company, where possible.

These changes reflect our confidence in WorkFlow’s potential and our broader vision for growth. Together, we will continue to explore new opportunities and position our products for long-term success. Thank you for your continued commitment.

«Let’s move forward resolutely, building this next chapter together,» says Shakhnovich’s letter, which was shared by the company’s specialists.

Specialists who were laid off, according to DOU, will receive:

  • comprehensive severance packages;
  • extended health insurance;
  • the opportunity to buy a laptop at a minimum price;
  • support in transitioning to a new job, including employment services and networking opportunities.

Let us remind you that this is not the first wave of layoffs in the company. In November 2022, the company’s Ukrainian office laid off 60-70 people.

In October 2024, it also became known that airSlate was laying off approximately 100 of its specialists. The company also cited restructuring as the reason for this decision. At that time, airSlate employed about 800 specialists, more than 600 of them in Ukraine.

There were also layoffs at the company at the beginning of last year.
