As the company reports on its blog, the preview of this technology solution for enterprises is now underway.
«Amazon Leo offers the highest upload and download speeds, as well as private network services. It is currently undergoing preparation and testing ahead of a broader deployment next year,» Amazon said.
According to the company, Leo Ultra is the fastest client terminal in production, with download speeds of up to 1 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 400 Mbps.
«The new preview program will allow select enterprise customers to test Amazon Leo services before their broader deployment,» the company announced.
They also reminded us that the company has over 150 satellites in orbit and began this work as part of Project Kuiper.
«Amazon Leo is designed to provide reliable high-speed internet to those beyond the reach of existing networks, including millions of businesses, government agencies, and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity,» Amazon stated.
The Leo Ultra is also known to be designed for use in inclement weather thanks to its durable, weather-resistant construction that can withstand high and low temperatures, precipitation, and high winds.
The antenna runs on a custom silicon chip designed by Amazon Leo and includes Amazon’s proprietary RF design and signal processing algorithms that maximize throughput while minimizing latency.
The company recalled that Amazon Leo is launching more than 80 missions to deploy its first Internet satellite constellation in low Earth orbit.
