According to Anthropic, the service runs on Claude Opus 4.7 and is already available in research preview format for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users. Access is being rolled out gradually.
Claude Design allows you to create website mockups, product interfaces, presentations, one-page documents, and marketing materials. The user can describe the task in text, upload files in DOCX, PPTX, or XLSX formats, or provide access to the code base. After that, the service generates the first version, which can be edited immediately.
Finalization takes place directly in the interface: through comments on individual elements, editing text, or adjusting parameters such as color, padding, and block placement. There is also a tool that allows you to pull elements from real sites to make the layout as close as possible to the product.
A separate feature is automatic adjustment to the company’s style. During setup, Claude can read design files and code and based on them form a design system with colors, fonts, and components. All subsequent layouts will immediately match this style.
The service supports collaboration: documents can be opened for viewing or editing within the team. Finished materials are exported to PDF, PPTX, Canva or HTML. If the design needs to be transferred to development, Claude creates a separate package for work in Claude Code.
The main practical difference of Claude Design is that it is not a separate editor, but a part of the workflow. Here you can describe an idea from scratch, assemble a layout, bring it to the company’s style and immediately transfer it to development or presentation without switching between different services. This is what shortens the time between «the idea has appeared» and «there is a file that can be shown or submitted for work.»
