The Army+ application has launched a new course «Basics of Electronic Warfare», dedicated to working with electronic warfare equipment. The course is aimed at military personnel who use drones and need to understand how to use electronic warfare without risk to their own systems.
The Army+ application has launched a new course «Basics of Electronic Warfare», dedicated to working with electronic warfare equipment. The course is aimed at military personnel who use drones and need to understand how to use electronic warfare without risk to their own systems.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the course explains the role of electronic warfare in modern drone warfare and how to integrate such tools into the work of the unit. The program covers the basic cycle of working with equipment: from understanding the tasks of electronic warfare and the principles of its operation to selecting a system for a specific mission. The course also includes blocks on checking equipment before departure, on-site testing, recording results, basic field repairs, detecting control and data transmission channels of enemy UAVs, as well as the practical use of automotive and portable systems.
The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the course should not only provide a technical basis, but also explain the logic of the safe use of such means. The idea is that electronic warfare is an element of the unit’s comprehensive protection, but improper use of such equipment can create problems for its own drones. Therefore, the training was built around practical scenarios that should help the military understand how to avoid mistakes during combat operations.
The program was prepared with the assistance of the NGO «Magura». Officers and engineers with experience in the development and management of electronic warfare (EW) equipment, including representatives of the Main Directorate of Radio Electronic and Cyber Warfare of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, participated in its creation. This is important because the course was not designed as a theoretical guide, but as a tool for those who work with such systems in real conditions.
Currently, 21 training courses in various areas are available in «Army+», including cybersecurity, psychological training, communications, battle planning, and working with UAVs. In total, 400,000 servicemen have started training in the application.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how the «Cyber Hygiene 2.0» course was made mandatory in the «Army+» application. It must be taken by both active military personnel and those who are being mobilized or joining the army for the first time. In just a few months, almost 150,000 users have already completed the training.
