"The era of drone use is mainstream. That's why we decided to add drone training alongside fire training and tactical medicine," the company told dev.ua.
How will this course differ from similar lessons on YouTube or other platforms? The company reminded that Drill has been on the market for two years, the last of which was through a paid subscription. “We have a patented information delivery system, with the help of which users receive and assimilate knowledge in the highest quality,” explained a Drill representative.
This month, the Drill App will feature the first FPV drone lessons, which will include assembly, maintenance, and repair of UAVs, as well as initial simulator-based training. For the latter feature, negotiations are underway with a specialized international company and preliminary agreements have already been made with it.
"We are planning about 1,000 exercises. The new course is being conducted by professionals who, in particular, serve in the most elite units of the Defense Forces. Some of them have been in the Ukrainian army since 2014 and are currently either operators or instructors of FPV drones," Drill explained.
They also promise lessons and exercises related to control, communications, tactics, and countering electronic warfare systems. Drill has invested several tens of thousands of dollars in the new course. Over time, the company plans to expand it to other aerial drones and ground platforms.
The new course will be free for Ukraine. The company reminded that the average subscription price for its application in other countries is about $10 per month. Drill is monetized through subscriptions, sales of internal features, and partnerships with brands.
"We provide services like Coursera or Udemy (popular platforms for online education - ed.), but in the miltech and security industry. That is, we teach people how to use weapons safely and legally, and we also teach tactical medicine. We have over 150,000 downloads of our application in the world. Most of them are in Ukraine, Poland, Brazil, the USA, and the UK. We have over 20 million views on TikTok. We plan to have 1 million downloads by the end of the year, and for this we are launching a separate promotional campaign," the company representative concluded.
Recall that in the fall of 2023, the dual-purpose training and military mobile application Drill received an expert opinion from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine , confirming its relevance for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This opened the opportunity to create a military version of Drill for training personnel. The application is available on Google Play and the App Store .
