«The IT market resembles a jungle where not the strongest survive, but the most cunning. And it seems that in this jungle the Indians invented their magic lamp. They dump as if Aladdin himself whispered to them that the main thing is quantity, not quality. While you are developing the perfect project, they have already offered the client to do the same, but for $50 and, preferably, by tomorrow.

The market is flooded with their code, where everything is based on «magic.» Who else can write a variable called magicJadu and seriously claim that it is the solution to a problem? That’s the point: they don’t care how it works. The main thing is to deliver the project and take the next one. The client is first happy with the money saved, and then tries to understand why his site has turned into a chaos with bugs multiplying faster than the coders in Delhi.

Indians have become masters of multitasking. One can work on ten projects at the same time, while simultaneously filming TikTok and dancing to Bollywood hits. And what? The main thing is that the client is satisfied until the moment of reckoning comes, when this «masterpiece» has to be rewritten.

The freelance environment has long been their field of fame. They offer to do everything — from developing a mobile application to creating artificial intelligence — in a few days and for a penny. Customers jump at this offer as if it were a «magic lamp.» But instead of a genie, they get a code that looks more like a Bollywood plot: lots of sparkle, a little drama, and logic that even magic can’t save.

But what’s the point? The perception of the market has changed. Now customers think that programming is like magic: do it once and everything works. Hence the constant questions: «Why is it so expensive?», «Why does it take so long?», «Can’t you do it like that Indian, only without bugs?». And here you sit and think: «Maybe I should start dancing in front of the client, so that he at least understands something?»

In fact, the situation becomes absurd. You write structured code, test it, think about scaling, and the client chooses a «magic» freelancer who creates a variable var magicCarpet = flyNow (); and sells it as an innovation. And the worst thing is that this approach works. Because while the market is flooded with offers for $100, you will never be able to explain to the client why quality is worth the money.
