According to «Military», SENSE-4 is a four-band detector of analog video signals of UAVs with an extended scanning range up to 8.2 GHz. Contra-drone claims that the compact format with such frequency capabilities allows to fix non-standard communication channels, and the development itself became a response to the change in tactics, when drones began to use frequencies above 6.5 GHz. The novelty is to replace the previous version of SENSE-3, which, according to the manufacturer, was released in a circulation of more than 4,000 units.
The key feature of the SENSE-4 is automatic video de-inversion. When the signal is specifically inverted to hide the image, the device is said to restore the image in about 1.5 seconds. The company also claims an updated hardware base and an expanded scanning grid, which should provide stable video monitoring in the tactical radius even under active radio interference.
The scanning ranges cover 1000-1900 MHz, 2800-4400 MHz, 4800-6060 MHz and 6000-8200 MHz. The claimed detection range is 4-10 km depending on the selected range. The software, according to the description, limits the frequencies on which cellular communication operates to reduce false positives and speed up the search for «drone» signals.
The detector body is made of aluminum, weighs 600 g, protection class IP44. Data is displayed on the main 4.3-inch screen and an additional OLED display for quick status checking. The 10,000 mAh battery provides up to 7 hours of battery life, charging via Type-C.
The article also highlights the trend of changing frequencies and masking video channels in UAVs, which makes two things critical for units: quickly finding the drone’s working channel and obtaining «readable» video to identify the threat and promptly transmit information for response.
