The Ukrainian military receives tens of thousands of drones every month, not only for reconnaissance but also for strike missions. 2025 was a record year in terms of the scale of deliveries.
According to the official Telegram channel of the State Service for Special Communications, in June alone, more than 33,000 unmanned systems were handed over to the military. The vast majority of the devices are Ukrainian-made. These include both FPV attack drones and reconnaissance models and other systems that are actively used at the front.
In total, in 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated 7.9 billion hryvnias for the purchase of UAVs for the Armed Forces. The State Service for Special Communications coordinates the procurement and provision of units with new devices, cooperating with national manufacturers. According to the service, the supply of drones is carried out regularly and covers the entire range of technical solutions required in combat conditions.
The department also emphasized the importance of supporting Ukrainian manufacturers, who, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, have been actively developing new types of drones adapted to the conditions of modern warfare, including countering enemy electronic warfare means.
The State Special Communications Service is one of the key bodies responsible for cyber defense, communications, and technological support for the Defense Forces. It is also one of the main operators of the state order for drones in 2024–2025.
