Deviro is developing an autonomous SOKYRA interceptor drone to shoot down Shaheds
Deviro has demonstrated a prototype of the SOKYRA interceptor drone, which is to be used against Russian attack UAVs of the Shahed type. The system is currently undergoing testing, and its technical parameters may be revised after improvements and tests.
Deviro has demonstrated a prototype of the SOKYRA interceptor drone, which is to be used against Russian attack UAVs of the Shahed type. The system is currently undergoing testing, and its technical parameters may be revised after improvements and tests.
According to Military, SOKYRA was shown at the forum «Protection of Infrastructure and Industry.» At the current stage, the interceptor declares a speed of up to 240 km/h, a range of up to 45 km, and a flight duration of approximately 30 minutes. The warhead weighs 750 g. The company explains that these figures are not final, in particular because the interceptor market is moving towards higher speeds.
The developers emphasize the maximum autonomy and mobility of the complex. The launch is carried out from a pneumatic catapult, which can be installed on a pickup truck and quickly deployed to a position. The software is the same as that used in the Leleka reconnaissance UAV and the Bulava attack drone. The device works with an inertial system, autopilot and is already integrated with separate radars and software solutions that provide target designation.
The application scenario involves a minimum of manual actions: the complex is designed for two operators and two laptops. The radar brings the interceptor to the target area, then it is confirmed visually. A thermal imaging camera is used for tracking, and after capture, the operator gives the command «Attack» and expects to be hit. The system also provides for auto-detonation.
Deviro manufactures the Leleka and Bulava drones and has its own operator training school. For SOKYRA, the company plans to train crews using a similar program to speed up the deployment of interceptors in units.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how Deviro Service Center does not see prospects in the production of interceptor drones under a state license. Denys Chumachenko emphasized the importance of developing its own technologies instead of licensed production of state models.
