The Ministry of Defense announced that the military has gained access to a wider range of drones in the defense procurement system DOT-Chain Defense. Thanks to the new contracts, the list of manufacturers in the marketplace has grown to 20 companies.
As noted on the Ministry of Defense website, six more companies have joined the platform: Gurzuf Defence, Quantum-Systems, SKYRIPER, Warbirds, LLC «VIK «DEVIRO» and LLC «Reactive Drones». As a result, the military can now choose from 146 drone models: from FPV to strike bombers.
DOT-Chain Defence began operating in July 2025 and has already proven its effectiveness. Since the first order on July 31, drones worth over UAH 127 million have been delivered to the front. The pilot project covers 12 combat brigades, which are testing the new procurement system in real war conditions.
According to Arsen Zhumadilov, Director of the Defense Procurement Agency, the key advantage of the system is speed and choice: «We are constantly expanding the range so that the military has a wide choice and can receive equipment as quickly as possible.»
All manufacturers of codified products can apply to participate in the system through the AOZ website. There are also plans to add aircraft-type drones, electronic warfare/electronic warfare systems, and drop ammunition to the marketplace.
The increase in the number of participants in DOT-Chain Defence creates the effect of competition between manufacturers. For the army, this means not only a wider range, but also a chance to get better quality by competing for contracts. For companies, this is an opportunity to directly enter defense procurement, which was previously lacking due to complex procedures. After two months of operation of the system, the trend is obvious: the more players join, the faster the range is updated and new models appear, adapted to front-line needs.
