Military finances are being transferred online: the Ministry of Defense launches the digital system "Budget" for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense has officially launched the «Budget» information system in the Ukrainian army, which shows in real time how army funds are planned and spent.

According to the data, by order No. 811, the system was put into operation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a single digital platform for managing the financial resources of the Ministry of Defense and military units. Data on allocated appropriations, actual expenditures, and balances are collected in a protected environment, so the General Staff and other military management bodies see the current picture without waiting for paper reports.

The «Budget» allows the command to quickly identify delays in financing, adjust supply plans, and respond more quickly to risks of inefficient use of money. According to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, the system forms a «modern core of defense resource management,» where information on spending is summarized in one place, without «blind spots» and quarterly failures in reporting.

Digitalization significantly reduces manual work in financial services. As Deputy Minister for Digital Development Oksana Ferchuk notes, one consolidated operational report, which previously required about 800 man-hours, is now generated three times faster. This allows the headquarters not only to save time, but also to make decisions on resource allocation and reallocation much faster.

Since the beginning of 2025, all commands and the State Special Transport Service have been working in the «Budget», now military units are connecting to the system: more than 60% of fund managers are already using the new tool. The platform is built on SAP components — resource management software used by more than 90% of NATO armies. The information system has passed a full cycle of technical, security and documentary checks by the Ministry of Defense.

Previously, dev.ua wrote about how the electronic military registration document in the «Reserve+» application will soon contain a photo of the owner. This should simplify identification and speed up data verification during martial law.
