WIY STRILA became the first FPV interceptor that the military can purchase with e-points on the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace
The Ukrainian FPV interceptor WIY STRILA became the first drone that defenders can officially order for combat e-points in the DOT-Chain Defence system.
The Ukrainian FPV interceptor WIY STRILA became the first drone that defenders can officially order for combat e-points in the DOT-Chain Defence system.
As WIY reports in its press release, WIY STRILA has undergone a full cycle of testing and codification, has shown effectiveness in intercepting Shaheds, and is now available on DOT-Chain Defence as a UAV and as a full-fledged UAV. Previously, the military could buy mainly strike or reconnaissance drones for e-points, now a high-speed interceptor has been added to the list.
The e-points system has been in operation since 2024: for the destruction of enemy manpower and equipment, units receive electronic bonuses that can be used to pay for equipment and components. DOT-Chain Defence acts as a closed «military marketplace» where these points are exchanged for specific items of equipment — from UAVs to ground control stations.
WIY STRILA was created specifically as an interceptor drone to combat Shahed-type strike UAVs. According to the manufacturer, it develops a speed of over 350 km/h, operates at altitudes of up to 4 km, has a tactical range of over 20 km and can carry up to 800 g of combat load. The drone is able to recognize targets up to 1000 m during the day and up to 600 m at night, and the rotating optical module allows you to change the viewing angle without losing control at high speed.
The aerodynamic body and carbon propellers provide stability in the air flow from the Shahed and allow it to hold the target during pursuit. A separate plus is that the WIY STRILA can return to the launch point without detonation if the target was not hit or the mission was canceled. This saves resources and reduces risks to civilian infrastructure.
The context for such systems is obvious: in the first ten months of 2025 alone, Russia launched approximately 44,000 Shahed missiles into Ukraine. Using expensive anti-aircraft missiles against relatively cheap drones is economically unprofitable, so the Armed Forces of Ukraine are gradually expanding their fleet of interceptors.
WIY STRILA is now officially available for purchase through DOT-Chain Defence and Brave1, as well as from the manufacturer and official partner Grotor. For Ukrainian developers, this is another channel to get into the troops, and for units, it is an opportunity to quickly close a specific request for protection against drones at the expense of their own combat results, without unnecessary bureaucracy.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how interceptor drones became available for order from DOT-Chain Defence.
