One of the most acute predictions about the future of the IT labor market was made by the co-founder of Genesis Holding, Volodymyr Mnogoletny, in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.
According to him, it is becoming increasingly difficult for junior developers in the industry to find work — and this is not a temporary market downturn, but a structural shift. «Now it is more difficult for juniors in IT. The industry will evolve into an industry of people with experience. A small number of experienced programmers will produce almost all the code,» said Mnogoletny.
He noted that the work of the Ukrainian IT industry with programming, even in 3-5 years, will look significantly different from today.
At the same time, in matters of hiring, the holding company declares that it focuses exclusively on the candidate’s talent, and not on formal criteria — age or experience in themselves are not decisive. According to the co-founder, no hiring decision at Genesis was made on any grounds other than the person’s potential value to the organization.
