Google launches photo-based clothes fitting feature powered by artificial intelligence

Google has introduced a new virtual clothing try-on feature that lets users see how an item will look on their own body. It is now available in the US on Search, Google Shopping and Google Images.
According to TechCrunch, users can click on a product in the search results and select the «try it on» icon. After uploading a full-size photo, Google will generate an image of the item «dressed» on you. You can save this image or share it with friends.
Google has previously worked with virtual fitting services, but they were based on models with different body types. Now the company lets you visualize yourself in a new look. In June, Google also launched Doppl, an app that uses the same generative AI technology to further personalize your style—you can even generate a video of yourself in a new look.
In addition, Google has expanded the price alerts feature. Now users can not only specify the product, but also set the desired price, color and size. If a relevant offer appears, the system will notify you automatically. According to Google’s retail director Danielle Buckley, the new feature allows you to avoid wasting time on constantly monitoring prices manually.
Google also announced the fall release of another AI feature — a tool for generating images and inspiration: for both clothing and interior design. For example, a user will be able to ask a query like «garden party look in a green dress» or «bedroom ideas» — and see visualization options with specific products from the Shopping Graph, which contains over 50 billion items.
Virtual shopping features are one area Google is investing heavily in amid growing competition from Amazon, Pinterest, and TikTok Shop. By combining visual search, artificial intelligence, and a commerce platform, Google is trying to transform classic online shopping into a personalized experience.
As we previously reported, Google DeepMind and OpenAI’s artificial intelligence models won gold medals at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), which was attended by 630 high school students from different countries. Although both models won, a controversial situation arose between the companies because one of them wanted to boast about its victory before the official results.
Як нейромережі бачать вільну та незалежну Україну? Тест dev.ua
