The General Chereshnya company presented the new Khmarinka strike drone, which was developed as a cheap aircraft-type drone for mass production and strikes on targets at tactical depth.
According to the press release «General Chereshnya», «Khmarinka» is an aircraft-type kamikaze drone, which is positioned as an affordable solution for the systematic destruction of targets and overloading enemy air defenses. The developers are betting not only on combat use, but also on the ability to quickly scale up production.
The drone is designed to engage armored vehicles, transport, warehouses, shelters, and other targets in tactical depth. Launched from a catapult, the system can be quickly deployed in the field without complex infrastructure or a prepared site.
The declared flight range of the «Khmarinka» is up to 50 km, the duration of its stay in the air reaches 60 minutes, and the maximum speed is 140 km/h. The drone is capable of carrying up to 7 kg of payload. The wingspan of the device is 196 cm, length 153 cm, height 33 cm.
General Chereshnya stated that the drone has already passed a test cycle and is ready for scaling up production and further use in combat conditions. The manufacturer plans to transfer the first 150 devices free of charge to the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine in order to receive direct feedback from the units.
The company also reported that «Khmarinka» should soon appear on the Brave1 Market marketplace, where divisions will be able to order it.
Recently, Ukrainian manufacturers have increasingly focused not on expensive single platforms, but on cheaper serial solutions that can be quickly produced in large batches. It is precisely such drones that should meet one of the key needs of the front: to deliver regular strikes, exhaust the enemy’s air defenses and put pressure on its resources not with individual point attacks, but with a constant mass.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how Ukrainian defense-tech company General Chereshnya and one of the largest European manufacturers of UAVs and equipment ORQA signed a memorandum, officially starting cooperation. The key goal is to fully localize component production in Ukraine and reduce dependence on foreign component supplies.
