Ukrainian company HIMERA has released update 3.0 for its tactical communications system. In the new version, developers focused on three things that are critical for the front: data protection, operational stability, and faster system setup in the field.

According to the HIMERA press release, one of the main innovations is the remote wipe command for G1 PRO radios. It allows you to remotely delete all information from the device if it is lost or there is a risk that it will fall into the hands of the enemy. For tactical communications, this is one of the most sensitive functions, because it is not just about equipment, but also about the security of the network, routes and coordination of units.

A special emphasis in the release was placed on encryption. The company says it has added support for a quantum-protected solution developed together with Quantropi. It works as an additional layer of protection to AES-256 and uses a key length of 1024 bits. HIMERA claims that this should increase the system’s resistance to interception and data compromise.

Version 3.0 also expanded compatibility with additional device configuration tools, improved stability, optimized data transfer, and gave users more configuration options. In addition, the developers updated the interface: added the Ukrainian language, new menu items, and offline access to training materials, which is important for working in unstable connection conditions.

HIMERA co-founder and CEO Misha Rudominsky stated that most of the changes in the release appeared in response to user requests and real-world experience of using the system in combat conditions. This means that update 3.0 is not a cosmetic, but a practical release that should adapt the system to specific scenarios of the units' work.

HIMERA is developing an entire ecosystem of communications equipment for the Defense Forces. It includes the G1 PRO portable radio, the B1 standalone repeater, the E1 internet extension, and the R1 repeater with internet relay capability. The company positions these products as solutions for operating in electronic warfare environments where low probability of detection, interception, and signal suppression are critical.

Previously, dev.ua wrote about how the Ukrainian developer and manufacturer of secure communication systems HIMERA talked about the B1 repeater for expanding the coverage areas of mesh/MANET networks to over 20 km.
