Previously, Hurin came under criticism on social media when he partially supported the position of the head of the Finance Committee, Danylo Getmantsev, who stated that low salaries of Ukrainians are associated with low labor productivity.
«An unpleasant reality. Hetmantsev is right, labor productivity in Ukraine is very low. This partly depends on high-tech means of production. But first of all on the qualifications of workers. If you work hard, this does not mean that you have high labor productivity,» Hurin wrote on the social network X (Twitter).
After the criticism, he later added that he was being hated for a statistical fact. In one of his posts, Dmytro Gurin also wrote that those who believe that deputies are doing nothing and that parliament should be dissolved, «under a dictatorship, they would dig trenches for a bowl of potato peelings.»

He explained that in case of loss, Dmytro Hurin should resign his deputy mandate and no longer «read the country notations about who should work and how.»
«This will probably be the first truly useful decision that you will make personally for the state. If you win, I will go live, dressed as a maid, and loudly call on you to support the 'smartest deputy in this country,'» Samoilenko noted and offered the People’s Deputy two months to prepare for the match.
Gurin thanked him for the offer, but declined and said he didn’t play video games.
