Intellias, one of Ukraine’s largest IT service companies, has opened an office in Cairo and plans to become profitable in the coming months. The new hub is expected to strengthen the company’s position in Europe and the Middle East, as well as provide access to new technical talent.
Intellias, one of Ukraine’s largest IT service companies, has opened an office in Cairo and plans to become profitable in the coming months. The new hub is expected to strengthen the company’s position in Europe and the Middle East, as well as provide access to new technical talent.
According to Forbes Ukraine, Intellias has invested several hundred thousand dollars in the creation of an office in Cairo. According to CEO Vitaly Sedler, the company expects to bring the location to payback within six months. Currently, the Egyptian team is working on projects in the automotive and digital sectors, and by the end of 2025 it is planned to expand to 30–50 people.
Intellias’ revenue in 2024 was UAH 4.1 billion, and the company’s clients include Siemens, LG, KIA, Zeekr, and several fintechs. Before the full-scale war, most of the specialists were based in Ukraine, but now more than 3,000 employees work in 37 countries around the world. This year alone, the company opened two new offices — in Germany and Egypt, and also conducted several M&A deals in the US and the UK.
Egypt has become a new strategic location due to its geographical location between Europe, the Middle East and Africa. There is access to English-speaking specialists and a strong technical base, and salaries are 15-20% lower than in Ukraine. For Intellias, this is an opportunity to fill niche vacancies, particularly in the field of automotive technologies, where the company has strong expertise.
However, working in the region is not without its challenges: cultural barriers, bureaucracy and currency fluctuations make planning difficult. Despite this, Intellias sees Cairo as a promising hub and sees it as a support for clients from Europe, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The company was founded in Lviv in 2002. Today it is among the top 10 Ukrainian IT companies according to Forbes. After the start of the full-scale war, the business began to actively globalize: in addition to new offices, the company is considering entering the markets of Canada and Japan. If the nearest M&A deal is completed successfully, Intellias expects growth of 15–20% in 2025.
