The International Legion of the Main Intelligence Directorate has announced the launch of its own production of ground robotic complexes. The new drone, called «Legit», is capable of performing both combat and logistical tasks.
The project was developed jointly by UAV CYCLONE group specialists and the DIU Legion Support engineering group. The press service of the GUR Legion reported this on its Facebook page. The basis of the complex is a small tracked platform, which can be configured depending on the needs of the mission.
In the logistical version, the Legit is supplemented with a trailer for transporting cargo — from ammunition to food. This format allows for autonomous delivery of resources to the front line without risk to personnel.
The combat version of the complex is equipped with a module with two infantry grenade launchers. Thanks to this, the drone can support assault groups during an offensive or fire at enemy fortifications at a distance. The third scenario of use was the use of the «Legit» as a kamikaze drone. In this case, an explosive charge is installed on the body, which is activated upon collision with a target.
Engineers emphasize that the design is adapted to front-line conditions, and the interaction between operators and developers ensured effectiveness during the combat testing phase.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainian military structures have been actively developing the direction of unmanned technologies. While aerial UAVs have already become the standard of the front, the segment of ground drones is only beginning to take shape. «Legit» is one of the first examples of a serial approach to combat UAVs by the defense forces.
As a reminder, our news feed also reported on how cyber specialists from the Main Intelligence Directorate carried out a series of powerful cyberattacks on key Russian state and commercial services. From June 10 to 12, the Russian tax and customs services were targeted, paralyzing their internal document flow for a while.
The GUR announced the «Magura era» and for the first time publicly presented new versions of Magura naval drones, which can operate in a swarm and shoot down Russian aircraft
