A former Google employee decided to conduct an experiment and added experience working with a famous porn star to his resume: how did recruiters react?
Former Google employee Jerry Lee called himself a "Mia Khalifa expert" and added a few more "red flags" to his resume to see if recruiters would ignore them, preferring the name of the search engine and his IT experience.
Former Google employee Jerry Lee called himself a "Mia Khalifa expert" and added a few more "red flags" to his resume to see if recruiters would ignore them, preferring the name of the search engine and his IT experience.
Mia Khalifa is known worldwide as one of the most recognizable faces in pornography. Despite only appearing in a handful of adult films, she was the most searched name on Pornhub for several years. Khalifa left the porn industry and amassed millions of followers on social media and later on OnlyFans, where she earns millions every month.
Given Khalifa's status in the online world, Jerry Lee decided to use her name to see what impact it would have when searching for a job, writes LADbible.
In his experiment, in addition to Mia Khalifa, Lee added a few other strange things to his resume. First, he changed his name to "Kiss My Nuts." And when it came to his experience, he listed a bunch of things you'd expect from a Googler: coding, AI, and JavaScript, but it was all with a porn star's name next to it.
Further down in his resume, Lee also claimed to have helped spread sexually transmitted diseases to 60 percent of the interns, and while at university, he said, he held the fraternity record for the most vodka consumed in one night.
"It's been about six weeks since I started this experiment," says Lee. "And I've gotten 29 fucking interviews."
The result shocked Lee, but he drew three important conclusions for himself about writing a resume.
“Focus on your strengths, clear job titles, and the impact you made. This is the foundation of your resume. The bullet points and font size are small details, but they’re what get you noticed,” he says.
“Finally, KEEP. IT. SIMPLE. A clear, structured resume template is your best friend. Recruiters love them because they can see the information they need at a glance,” added Lee, who has run his own company, Wonsulting, for several years.
A native of Aitivets, who worked in management positions at Google and Meta, told how to improve your resume. He advises to fit it on one page of a black and white PDF file
