According to the victim, on February 19, he came across an offer of part-time work on the messengers «WhatsApp» and «Telegram», while watching videos on TikTok, the court ruling states. That is exactly what he was offered — to watch videos on TikTok and give likes, promising a reward for it. The man was even added to the so-called working group, where tasks were supposed to appear. At the request of the «employer», he himself provided his personal data, bank card number, as well as his email address. This information, according to the curator, who was conducting a dialogue with the man about the job, was necessary to register him as a new user.
After several tasks that the easy money lover completed throughout the day, he began to be demanded to make «contributions» to activate accounts, purchase «movies,» and withdraw earned funds through a supposed exchange.
First, the man transferred 500 UAH so that he could supposedly be registered on the «exchange». Later, on February 21, 2025 at 10:17 a.m., at the request of the curator, he transferred another 2,995 UAH to «buy a film». Then, the victim made several more money transfers to bank cards provided by the curator, supposedly in order to «withdraw earned funds», «unblock the account», which was supposedly blocked due to an incorrectly completed task, and under other pretexts.
The «employers» constantly misled the man, even connecting him with potential financial assistants. And after the victim ran out of money and began demanding that he be returned all the transferred amounts, which totaled 173,197 UAH, the curator said that this was impossible, because the money was frozen on his stock exchange account. Only then did the man realize that they were scammers and contacted the police.

This is not the first time that criminals have offered to pay people a lot of money for watching videos on TikTok, and then scammed people out of several hundred thousand hryvnias. A similar fraudulent scheme was exposed in Ivano-Frankivsk.
