According to the Ministry of Defense, the solution is intended to replace dozens of different control stations currently used by units, which means operators have to carry multiple sets of equipment for different types of drones.
The department explains that unification will reduce the number of equipment in positions and simplify the work of operators. It will also reduce the time for preparing to launch drones and help to carry out combat missions faster.
The project was worked on together with the manufacturers for several months. UAV efficiency advisor Serhiy Sternenko was involved in the process. Currently, the military uses two types of stations — analog and digital, with the main load being on analog solutions.
The Ministry of Defense has already defined the technical requirements for such stations and created a prototype close to serial production. The first samples will be transferred to units this week for testing in combat conditions. After that, the solution is planned to be scaled up, as well as separately develop digital control systems.
According to Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov, the goal is to obtain one universal station that can replace several different devices and remove unnecessary complexity in the work of units.
