The Ministry of Defense has fully digitized the process of supplying drones to the Defense Forces of Ukraine. To this end, the Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense has implemented DOT-Chain Arsenal, a digital supply management system at the operational level.
According to the Ministry of Defense, this is the stage at which already manufactured drones are transferred to military units. DOT-Chain Arsenal records the movement of each batch in real time and automates the interaction between the state and suppliers, replacing paper invoices and manual accounting with digital records.
The department explains that the system allows you to see the path of equipment from the manufacturer to logistics warehouses and further to combat units, and also forms data arrays for planning and control of supply. According to the director of the DOT Arsen Zhumadilov, digitalization reduces the time for checking the status of supplies and allows you to make decisions based on current data, rather than delayed reports.
Separately, the Ministry of Defense emphasizes the requirements for information protection. DOT-Chain Arsenal was developed taking into account the Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 standard of the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The system developer also passed an audit for compliance with the international information security standard ISO/IEC 27001.
In the future, DOT-Chain Arsenal is planned to be used not only for drones. The system is to be scaled up to supply ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, ground equipment, property, and fuels and lubricants.
DOT-Chain Arsenal is part of the digital infrastructure of the DOT and is focused specifically on the operational level of support, after the completion of procurement and production. According to the Ministry of Defense, centralized accounting and tracking of supplies should reduce the risks of losses, delays, and inconsistencies in logistics during wartime.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how the Ministry of Defense is preparing a reform of the «E-points» program to award points not only for the work of units with drones, but also for the effectiveness of «small air defense», army aviation, and snipers. In the future, they plan to connect infantry on the front line to the system.
