According to him, in 2023, the «Shaheeds» had 4-channel antennas and were «relatively vulnerable to electronic warfare.» Today, 16-channel systems are used that change signal frequencies and pass through suppression zones. In massive strikes, this gives the aggressor a tangible effect.
«We are already using them, increasing the number of radar stations, increasing the number of personnel, and training personnel,» he said.
The official further added that this involves parallel reinforcement of air defense, electronic warfare, and interceptor units. To repel attacks, more mobile fire groups with large-caliber weapons and MANPADS are being deployed, additional early detection radars are being deployed, interceptor drones and electronic warfare equipment are being used to jam control and navigation channels, and aviation (in particular, F-16s) are being connected for interception at long ranges.
The Ministry of Defense admits that with the advent of 16-channel systems, the cost of errors in the «windows» between defense echelons is increasing. Therefore, the priority is rapid data exchange between radars, air defense, mobile groups, and interceptors in order to transmit the target from level to level without pauses.
Separately, Havrylyuk noted that adaptation to the enemy’s new electronics is ongoing, and during recent raids, the proportion of downed targets has remained high precisely thanks to the coordination of ground groups with electronic warfare and air defense means.
