The Ministry of Defense will expand the "E-points" program and add small air defense, army aviation and snipers to it

The Ministry of Defense is preparing a reform of the «E-points» program to award points not only for the work of units with drones, but also for the effectiveness of «small air defense», army aviation, and snipers. In the future, they plan to connect infantry on the front lines to the system.

According to Military, the expansion of the program was announced by Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov during the Drone Army 2025 event, where the results of 2025 were summed up and the most productive units were recognized. He noted that in the near future, E-points should cover «small air defense» units, which play a key role in countering reconnaissance UAVs and kamikaze drones. Currently, the system, according to him, focuses on intercepting drones and works mainly for interceptor drones, but the ministry wants to add other means of destruction that shoot down drones.

«Small air defense» includes, among others, interceptor drones, mobile fire groups, and anti-aircraft machine gun and anti-aircraft gun complexes. Its point is to scale up cheaper solutions faster than classic anti-aircraft systems, which depend on expensive missiles and limited production rates. In late 2025, the Ukrainian company Wild Hornets, which produces drones for the Defense Forces, announced that its STING interceptor drones had become available for purchase for «E-points.»

Separately, the material mentions that on January 19, 2026, Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Pavlo «Lazar» Yelizarov as Deputy Commander of the Air Force, responsible for the development of «small air defense.»

Fedorov also announced that army aviation will soon be added to the «E-points», as well as points will be awarded for the work of snipers. The next step in the ministry is called connecting infantry units on the front line and in the combat zone to receive more data and manage priorities more flexibly.

In parallel, the program continues to expand the list of available equipment. Recently, the electronic reconnaissance drone detector «Chuyka 3.0» became available for «E-points»: its cost starts from 25,700 UAH. The device intercepts an analog video signal, allows you to see the image from the FPV drone camera and warns with a sound signal, and the declared operating range reaches up to 4 km. The detector is available through DELTA, DOT-Chain Defence and Brave1 Market.

«E-scores» were launched as a tool for collecting qualitative data from the battlefield and quickly adjusting priorities. At first, the system took into account confirmed drone results, and later artillery, mining, as well as logistical and evacuation tasks using ground robotic complexes were added. Expansion to «small air defense», aviation, snipers and potentially infantry should turn the program into a broader mechanism for managing the effectiveness of various branches of forces.

Previously, dev.ua wrote about how President Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian drones had hit over 800,000 targets in 2025 and that over 80% of Russian targets were hit by drones.
