The Ukrainian-made drone «RONNI-13» has officially received codification and approval for operation in the Armed Forces. It is a combat drone with fiber-optic control, adapted to frontline conditions.
The inclusion of the drone into the supply system was reported by the Main Directorate for Lifecycle Support of Armaments and Military Equipment. «RONNI-13» was developed based on the combat experience of Ukrainian defenders. It has a lightweight but durable design, powerful brushless motors and capacitive batteries that provide long-range operation with a combat load.
A key feature is the control via a fiber-optic channel, which provides protection against electronic warfare. Thanks to this, operators can use the drone even in difficult conditions on the front line, where GPS and radio communications are often unavailable or jammed.
The RONNI-13 platform supports several equipment options: the drone can be configured for combat missions during the day or night, changing the type of surveillance cameras. The main purpose is to defeat enemy manpower and equipment at medium and long distances.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the drone already meets the technical requirements of the army and is undergoing procedures for introduction into regular use.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has intensified the development of its own strike drones. Against the background of a high need for autonomous platforms, in particular those protected from electronic warfare, the Ministry of Defense is simplifying access to operation for promising solutions. «RONNI-13» is an example of technological adaptation to real war conditions.
As a reminder, we also wrote about the launch of GUR’s own production of ground robotic complexes. The new drone, called «Legit», is capable of performing both combat and logistical tasks.
