The Army+ application has opened access to a new training course called «Drone Air Defense.» It is about the use of interceptors to destroy enemy UAVs at the tactical level.
The material was prepared by the fighters of the 59th Airborne Brigade of the Ukrainian Airborne Forces, a unit with real combat experience in this field, as reported by the Ministry of Defense. They were the first to systematically use FPV as kamikazes against air targets, shooting down reconnaissance UAVs and intercepting «Shaheeds» with drones.
The program consists of six modules and covers the full cycle of work with interceptors: reconnaissance and detection of air targets, selection of a drone for a specific task, preparation for departure and analysis of typical errors. Separate modules are devoted to tactics of hunting reconnaissance wings and high-speed targets, safety, position concealment and analysis of flight results.
All algorithms are based on real combat experience. Each module includes practical tasks, and at the end, a final test and certificate.
This is the 59th separate assault brigade of unmanned systems named after Yakov Handziuk. It participated in the battles for Kherson, Mykolaiv, Avdiivka and Pokrovsk. Since January 2025, the brigade has been operating as part of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
Previously, the «Army+» application launched a new course «Basics of Electronic Warfare», dedicated to working with electronic warfare means.
Also recently, the «Cyber Hygiene 2.0» course was made mandatory in the «Army+» application. It must be taken by both active military personnel and those who are being mobilized or joining the army for the first time. In just a few months, almost 150,000 users have already completed the training.
