According to the Ministry of Defense, the system is already being deployed in units of the Airborne Assault Forces and removes manual routine from personnel services, «combatants» and commanders. «Impulse» consolidates service events in one serviceman’s card, simplifies the preparation of orders and certificates, and creates a base for subsequent services that will close typical requests during service.
For the personnel service, this means automatic generation of orders, certificates, and reports without copying data between registers. For the «battle» — a single card with the entire life cycle of a military person, which reduces discrepancies in unit accounting and speeds up checks. For commanders — instant analytics of unit manning and readiness, available on request in a few clicks.
«The Impulse system is the foundation for the digitalization of the entire army. It already records service events in one place, reduces the time for documents, and creates a technical basis for new services focused on the military,» said Oksana Ferchuk, Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development.
Security is a key requirement: Impulse operates in a closed, secure loop, access is granted by roles and levels, and all user actions are recorded. Development is led by the Center for Scaling Technological Solutions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which employs IT specialists with civilian experience in creating digital products; deployment is provided by units of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Digitization of personnel processes reduces time wasted on paper procedures and reduces the risk of errors during accounting. The next stage may be application modules around «Impulse»: from electronic queues and repeating document templates to inventorying property, working in a single office of the military.
