The «Basic Social Assistance» service has been launched in Ukraine in the «Diya» application: now low-income families can apply for one monthly payment instead of several separate ones, sign an application with the Diya.Signature, and receive money on the Diya.Card.
According to the «Diya» website, the service is available in the Services → State Assistance → Basic Social Assistance → Receive Assistance section. The algorithm is simple: update the application, log in, wait for the amount to be automatically calculated, submit an application with the Diya.Card selection, confirm the combination of several types of assistance into one payment, sign the Diya.Signature and invite adult family members to co-sign. After approval, you will receive a notification about the assignment of assistance.
Families receiving: assistance to the low-income, child benefits for single mothers, and temporary assistance for children whose parents do not pay child support or whose whereabouts are unknown can already use the service. In the future, the list will be expanded and other families will also be able to apply with certain exceptions. The system calculates the amount of the payment individually for each family depending on its composition and income; unified criteria should ensure transparency and the same rules for all applicants.
The service is not available to users in temporarily occupied territories, in zones of active hostilities, or abroad. Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov emphasizes that the goal of the service is to remove «walking from office to office» from people’s lives: «Go to „Diya“, make a few clicks, and wait for a notification about the assignment of assistance.»
